Since the late Professor Albert Kligman popularized the term “cosmeceutical,” the concept of drug-like
non-prescription cosmetics has flourished. Why? Presumably the public wishes access, and many gov-
ernmental regulatory teams concur that the toxicologic risk to the public justifies such marketing.
